2020 Ballot Recommendations

Proposition 113 - National Popular Vote

​

Joins Colorado into the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact, awarding Colorado’s electoral votes to the winner of the national popular vote. RECOMMEND: NO

 

Violates the original intent of the US Constitution. The Constitution dictates that the President is elected by the Electoral College, not the Popular Vote, a CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC NOT A DEMOCRACY. If the Compact goes into effect, Colorado’s presidential electors would be obligated to vote for whomever wins the national popular vote, even if that candidate did not win the majority of votes in Colorado.

Prohibits abortion after 22 weeks gestational age, except when an abortion is immediately required to save the life of a pregnant woman. RECOMMEND: YES

Decreases the state income tax rate from 4.63% to 4.55%. Reduces taxes & limits government. RECOMMEND: YES

Proposition 117 Voter Approval Requirement for Creation of Certain Fee-Based Enterprises

 

Requires voter approval of new enterprises that are exempt from TABOR if their revenue is greater than $100 million within its first five years. RECOMMEND: YES

 

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Proposition 118 - Paid Family and Medical Leave Insurance Program

Establishes a program for paid medical and family leave. RECOMMEND: NO

​

Places a significant financial and regulatory burden on businesses, especially small businesses. Creates more government bureaucracy. Requires employees to pay into the program that may never use it.

Reintroduces gray wolves on public lands. RECOMMEND: NO

 

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Amendment B (Taxes and Property)

 

Repeals the Gallagher Amendment of 1982,which limited the residential and nonresidential property tax assessment rates so that residential property taxes amounted to 45% of the total share of state property taxes and non-residential property taxes amounted to 55% of the total share of state property taxes. RECOMMEND: NONE
